Overview

Essential Functions

1. Performs welding, fabrication, and maintenance work on various light and heavy equipment; prepares welding projects by analyzing work orders, prints, and completed assembly; calculating requirements; studying metals; determining welding techniques.

2. Gathers welding equipment and materials by studying specifications and component requirements; orders supplies and gases; reads and interprets schematics for projects.

3. Completes welds by cleaning, preparing, cutting, burning, and welding pieces; effectively selects welding methods, sets up assemblies, and accurately measures; diagnoses, repairs, and maintains COD equipment to ensure daily operations.

4. Verifies welding results by inspecting and testing welds; documents welding actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

5. Keeps welding equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures; troubleshoots and investigates breakdowns; maintains equipment supplies, performs preventive maintenance, calls for repairs.

6. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy welding environment by adhering to organization standards, policies, and to legal regulations, alerts others regarding potential concerns.

7. Improves welding job knowledge by attending training sessions, professional development classes, and by reading technical publications.

8. Contributes to welding and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helps others accomplish job results.

9. Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

1. Knowledge of welding methods, practices, and principles.

2. Knowledge of safety regulations and standards.

3. Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.

4. Ability to work with various equipment.

5. Establishing and maintaining effective relationships.

6. Communicating orally and in writing.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: One (1) year of welding experience.

Licenses and Certifications

Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Equivalency

Welding certificate from a trade school will meet the experience and education requirements.

Salary Range

$21.67 - $23.60 The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
