Contracting and Procurement is seeking a Procurement Officer to join the Services & Technology Procurement Team responsible for leading the acquisition of services at departmental and citywide levels. This position reports to the Services & Technology Procurement Manager and has primary responsibility for providing procurement and contracting expertise, consultation, and oversight of all activities related to the acquisition of services and technology solutions for the City of Charlotte. This position is responsible for performing all aspects of complex formal procurement and contracting activities related to the acquisition of services and technology for the City of Charlotte. This includes supporting daily operations, working on the continuous improvement of processes, coordinating with the City Attorney's Office on contract and negotiation issues, and ensuring compliance requirements.

Bachelor's Degree and three years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential job duties.
The City's Background Check Policy requires background checks to be conducted on final internal or external candidate(s) applying for any position with the City of Charlotte. The type of information that will be collected as part of a background check includes, but is not limited to: reference checks, social security verification, education verification, criminal conviction record check, and, if applicable, a credit history check, sex offender registry and motor vehicle records check. Final candidates must pass a pre-employment drug-screening test and physical examination. During the selection process, candidates may be asked to take a skills test, and/or participate in other assessments.
