Responsibilities include analysis, programming, and configuration of end user applications and/or systems software including. Analyes detailed business/functional/technical requirements and specifications for the application.
This position supports, configures, and enhances operational technology systems across bus and rail operations, including onboard vehicle systems, rail network infrastructure, real-time communications platforms, and operational video systems, using a range of programming, scripting, integration, and database technologies.
The role leads technical maintenance, troubleshooting, system optimization, and lifecycle evolution to ensure high availability and reliability of mission-critical transit systems.
It provides technical and supervisory oversight of professional and para-professional staff, ensuring alignment with operational requirements, configuration standards, security practices, and incident-response procedures.
The position establishes performance objectives, drives execution toward operational outcomes, and ensures all supported teams adhere to established operational technology policies, change-management processes, and safety-critical practices.
High School diploma or equivalent and 7 years of relevant experience; or 2 Year College degree and 5 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience.
The City's Background Check Policy requires background checks to be conducted on final internal or external candidate(s) applying for any position with the City of Charlotte.
