In this pivotal role, you'll be on the front lines of keeping our city safe and accessible throughout the winter season. Your responsibilities will include clearing snow from sidewalks, hand shoveling, general maintenance, garbage pickup, repairing items, and cleaning and maintaining City infrastructure. Additionally, you'll contribute to road maintenance and operate various pieces of equipment. This is your chance to play a key role in serving our community during the winter months!
The Recruitment Process for the Casual Labourer (Winter Operations) Positions:
The City of Belleville will be hosting a Winter Operations Casuals Hiring Event at our 31 Wallbridge Crescent location in Belleville, ON. The hiring event will take place September 23rd and 24th, 2025 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Salary: $24.42 per hour, plus $1.85 shift premium where applicable

The Transportation and Operations Casual Labourer (Winter Operations) position is part of the team dedicated to excellent operational and customer service experience. The position will assist permanent staff with duties as assigned in the Operations and Parks Divisions, which support winter operations and maintenance requirements throughout the City of Belleville.
