Salary Range: $74,803.00 - $119,684.00 Annually
Starting Pay: $74,803.00 Annually
This position supports the work of the Records & Certification Unit of the Education & Training Section, Baltimore Police Department. The primary responsibility of the position is to coordinate the Section’s compliance with Public Safety Training Academy Standards promulgated by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). A detailed list of duties and responsibilities is provided below.
Supervised by: Sgt. Robert Corso, Supervisor of the Records & Certification Unit.
Interacts with: Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) staff; CALEA member associations including the CALEA Training Academy Group and the Chesapeake Regional Law Enforcement Accreditation Alliance; E&T staff and the BPD Compliance Division staff; and others.
Individuals supervised: None other than occasional cadets and pre-hires providing clerical assistance.
Education: High school graduation or GED required. Four-year college degree preferred.
AND Experience: At least 5 years administrative experience. Experience with accreditation compliance in a law enforcement agency or public safety training academy preferred.
OR Equivalency Notes: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Background Check: Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint must be successfully completed.
Probation: All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory 1-year probation.
