A Painter II performs complex painting work including the mixing of colors to specifications or matching paint to existing surfaces. Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities. Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek. Work is performed indoors and outdoors where incumbents are exposed to inclement weather and heights from ladders and scaffolding. Work requires moderate physical exertion.
Minimum Qualification:
Education: Graduated from an accredited high school or possess a GED certificate.
And Experience: Have three years of experience in painting work.
Or Equivalency Notes: Have six months of additional experience in painting work may substituted for each year of the high school or GED requirement. Completion of one year of the required coursework in a painting curriculum in an accredited high school or vocational school may be substituted for six months of the experience requirement.
Licenses, Registrations and Certificates: Have a valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license, or an equivalent out-of-state driver's license acceptable to the Office of Risk Management may be required. Provisional driver's licenses or learner permits are not acceptable. Note: You must upload a copy of your valid driver's license with application at time of applying.
