The Trade Client Service Manager will be a pivotal client-facing individual responsible for nurturing day-to-day relationships within a dedicated portfolio of existing clients, with a particular focus on "Long Tail" clients (as per the bank's segmentation). This role emphasizes proactive engagement, expertly addressing client inquiries related to Trade Import/Export Letters of Credit (LCs), Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs), and Guarantees. A key aspect of this role involves identifying and initiating discussions for potential new trade finance opportunities and actively contributing to attrition reduction, acting as a crucial link between clients and Citi's comprehensive trade solutions.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a designated portfolio of existing clients, efficiently managing daily inquiries concerning Trade Import/Export LC, SBLC, and Guarantees.
  • Cultivate and sustain robust client relationships, gaining an in-depth understanding of their ongoing trade finance requirements and contributing to attrition reduction.
  • Proactively engage with clients to pinpoint opportunities for new trade finance deals and tailored solutions, maintaining a 360-degree view of their import and export activities.
  • Initiate conversations with clients to explore potential new business; for simple opportunities, facilitate accurate price quoting using internal tools and ensure efficient online deal closure.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with the Sales team by strategically referring complex new deal opportunities for further development and specialized handling, fostering closer integration between sales and operations.
  • Utilize internal data and analytical tools (e.g., facility utilization, pipeline, attrition dashboards, Banker Direct Access - BDA) to identify client needs, monitor performance, and inform engagement strategies.
  • Deliver exceptional client service, ensuring the timely and accurate resolution of all inquiries while maintaining high standards of client satisfaction.
  • Continuously develop and maintain a strong understanding of Citi Trade Product solutions to effectively address client needs.

What we'll need from you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field.
  • Relevant experience in client-facing roles within the banking, finance, or trade industries.
  • Demonstrated strong client-facing skills, characterized by a proactive, personable, and service-oriented approach.
  • Solid familiarity with Trade Finance/Documentary Trade products, including Letters of Credit (LCs), Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs), and Guarantees.
  • Experience or comfort with utilizing data and analytical tools for client insights and opportunity identification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to thrive and work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly client-centric environment, contributing to the holistic intensity sales model.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Comfortable and proficient in initiating sales conversations and proactively offering product solutions for both import and export trade activities.
  • In-depth knowledge of Citi's specific Trade Product solutions and experience.
