Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with support functions, building relationships with credit risk, market risk, operations, finance and technology to assist in delivering on business strategy.
  • Create & maintain effective metrics for desk heads and senior management teams.
  • Other ad-hoc Business Management tasks that support the activities of the business including PowerPoint presentations and Excel analysis.
  • Participate in the control framework for the wider business including Managers' Control Assessment (MCA) testing, operational loss processes, investigating, developing and driving corrective actions.
  • Query databases and dashboards to produce reports.

Business Governance:

  • Be proactive to identify areas requiring management oversight, work with senior management to incorporate into appropriate governance forums.
  • Coordinate and support various internal audits.
  • Ensure that controls and monitoring methods are adequately designed and executed.

Control & Regulatory Focus:

  • Seek out and ensure corrective actions are implemented for control related issues across the spectrum of control functions with a goal of driving a robust, efficient and scalable business model for the supported desks.

Business Development & Project Management:

  • Project manage business-driven projects across functions, driving implementation and working closely with relevant seniors.
  • Support the strategy of senior management, which can vary with business need but requires strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Provide input into technology change, process, and control framework enhancements.

Business & Communication:

  • Relay business knowledge, product knowledge, and requirements to sales staff and internal support functions.
  • Coordinate and participate actively in relevant business initiatives.
  • Foster excellent relationships between the businesses and various support functions.
  • Communicate effectively within the business management teams locally and globally.
  • Communicate effectively within the wider FX Sales management teams.

Development Value:

  • Develop a detailed understanding of the Global FX business, its products and processes and how it operates within a large organization.
  • Build effective prioritization and project skills as the job entails dealing with multiple conflicting priorities in a time pressured environment.
  • The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work and build relationships with a broad range of people inside the organization, including Desk Heads, Country Markets Heads, FX Management, Global Functions Business Partners.
  • Extensive on the job training.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Exposure to Foreign Exchange and/or Interest Rate products would be an advantage.
  • Business management, finance, operations, audit, or related experience within global financial services firms.
  • Strong understanding of data flows within the Markets organization.
  • Good written and verbal presentation skills required.
  • Strong project management and execution skills.
  • Experience working with and manipulating large data sets is an advantage (QlikView, PowerBI, Python or SQL).

  • Excellent communications skills (written / verbal) at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to interact concisely and confidently with senior business leaders.
  • Results/task orientated with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize effectively and resolve conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and autonomously.
  • High level of computer literacy especially with Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint, including the ability to code basic macros in Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressure with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment with colleagues who are not based in the same location.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent academic background educated to a minimum of degree level or sufficient industry experience.
