Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled QA automation engineer with a strong background in Selenium WebDriver testing, API testing and expertise in the Cucumber framework. The ideal candidate should be capable of independently developing and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch. This role demands proficiency in Maven, Git and Bit bucket for version control and continuous integration. Exposure to Jira and Zephyr for test management is essential, and the ability to adapt to manual testing requirements is crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to identify the end-to-end testing scope
• Collaborate with development, testing team and support teams to clarify specs, raise issues/concerns and identify risks throughout the software development life cycle.
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver for web application testing.
• Design and implement automated API tests to validate backend services.
• Create and manage automation frameworks using Cucumber to support BDD practice.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test automation strategies and best practices.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Maven, Git and Bit bucket.
• Execute manual testing when required and contribute to manual test cases.
• Utilize JIRA and Zephyr for test planning, execution, and defect tracking.
• Troubleshoot automation issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Create reports (daily status reports and weekly reports) showing testing progress and blockers.
• Mentor junior team members and conduct knowledge sharing sessions.

Required Skills:

• Hands-on experience in QA automation with a focus on Selenium WebDriver and API testing.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing automation frameworks using Cucumber.
• Strong programming skills in Java or another object-oriented language.
• Hands-on experience with maven, Git, Bit bucket for version control and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Qualifications:

• Must have 2-4 years of relevant experience in functional and automation testing practice.
• Experience in test automation for API and web applications (functional & regression).
• Ability to convert manual test cases into automation scripts.
• Strong collaboration in a global delivery model (onshore – offshore).
• Good understanding of CI/CD integration.
• Exposure to banking/financial domain and compliance testing.
• Clear communication for reporting and defect triage.
