Agent, Customer Service – Claims (12-Month Contract)

Department: Accounting, Shared Services

Location: Laval, QC

Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time (37.5 hours) – Duration of 12 months

The Role

Reporting to the Manager of Claims, the incumbent acts as the first point of contact for operators and customers regarding all insurance claims. This includes claims following a personal injury, breakage or damage to company/third-party property or automobile fleet claims.

What You Will Do

Here are some ways you will make a difference:

  • Act as the resource for operators in the event of a claim following a personal injury, breakage or damage to company/third-party property or automobile fleet claims;
  • Coordinate claims files following established protocols (e.g., billing and/or reimbursement);
  • Follow up with operations, clients, and insurer and/or claims expert;
  • Handle phone complaints related to customer service claims;
  • Compile documents necessary for the production of various statistical reports;
  • Answer calls and emails;
  • Provide administrative support for the Insurance and Claims department;
  • Intervene and negotiate with different stakeholders.

What You Will Need

Education:

  • DEC in secretarial or administration;

Experience:

  • Minimum one year of relevant customer service (telephone) experience;
  • Experience in administrative support (asset);
  • Experience in the insurance sector and in the management of claims files will be considered an asset.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office;
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage priorities;
  • Diplomacy, autonomy;
  • Strong aptitude for customer service and negotiation.

Language Skills:

  • Bilingualism required (advanced French and English) both orally and in writing, as the person will be regularly required to work and communicate in English while performing the tasks below. Specifically, the role requires collaboration with global teams.
