Electrical Engineer (Entry-Level)

Cimarron is seeking an entry-level to junior-level Electrical Engineer to support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the Sentinel program. Cimarron provides engineering and technical support to Bechtel for the design, construction, and integration of the Sentinel launch systems at locations to include Vandenberg AFB, CA, F.E. Warren AFB, WY, Malmstrom AFB, MT, and Minot AFB, ND. Sentinel is a vital US Air Force program that will recapitalize the nation's aging ground-based leg of the nuclear triad - the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). This is an on-site position that offers a 9X80 work schedule (i.e., every other Friday off), paid overtime, and an outstanding work/life balance. For candidates not local to the Ogden area, a relocation allowance can be provided.

Key Duties:

  • Support the development of design documentation for electrical systems and equipment on the Sentinel program.
  • Work under the direction of senior engineers/designers to develop design products that meet project and client requirements.
  • Review client requirements and incorporate them into design deliverables.
  • Coordinate deliverable reviews between the client and other engineering disciplines/functions, resolving comments and feedback.
  • Ensure electrical system designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Review and check design deliverables for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality, and completeness.
  • Assist in the development of electrical design deliverables, including:
    • Single line drawings
    • Panel schedule drawings
    • Schematics
    • Cable block diagrams
    • Electrical system calculations
    • Lightning protection design
    • Cathodic protection design
    • Bill of materials/material take-offs
    • Equipment sizing calculations
    • Equipment specifications for purchasing, installation, and operation

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance in a reasonable timeframe.
  • This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • Relevant work experience (ex., internship).
  • Passed the Engineering in Training (EIT) / Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination (Electrical Engineering) in the U.S.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with office automation and productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems, schematics, layouts, and related calculations.
  • Hands-on experience using AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a multi-project environment.
  • Understanding of power systems load modeling and analysis tools.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, perform equipment sizing, and cable sizing calculations.
  • Experience working with government agencies.
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Experience supporting DoD programs.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
