How You Will Contribute:

Reporting under Director, Engineering Project/Program Management, as a Professional Services Program/Project Manager you will:

• Lead cross-functional teams to create and execute comprehensive project plans balancing scope, budget, and schedule.
• Develop and manage contingency, risk, issue, communication, and working agreements plans.
• Monitor and guide teams and customers through the entire project lifecycle to meet objectives.
• Anticipate, manage, and resolve risks and issues internally and externally.
• Act as a liaison between customers, Blue Planet, and partners/vendors.
• Mentor junior team members to ensure organizational success and drive improvement initiatives.
• Perform administrative duties such as expense submissions, PO accruals, status tracking, invoicing, and reporting.

The Must Haves:

• Bachelor's degree in business management, communications, engineering, or related fields (required).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Interpersonal skills including leadership, relationship building, and conflict management.
• Competency in Agile methodology, Scrum framework, and SDLC processes.
• Proficiency with Jira, MS Project, SharePoint, and Excel (experience with Mavenlink and Salesforce is a plus).
• Minimum 7 years of Project Management experience, ideally in professional services.
• PMP certification (or equivalent extensive experience).
• Background in software companies and tier 1 Telco interactions.
• Familiarity with technical requirements and terminology to manage technical teams effectively.

Assets:

• MBA (preferred).
• Experience with Mavenlink and Salesforce applications.
• Exposure to tier 1 Telco operations and processes.
• Flexibility to work across multiple time zones and occasional travel.

The annual pay range for this position is $106,300 - $169,700.

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
