How You Will Contribute:
You will be joining a team of hardware designers working on the design, implementation, and validation of complex printed circuit boards for next generation networking and optical platforms.
Under the mentorship of a senior engineer, you will be accountable for co-developing the hardware design of Ciena's flagship optical modem circuit packs.
You will be part of evaluating and implementing circuitry supporting early versions of custom & advanced electronic and optical components not yet available to the general market.
You will ensure thorough lab validation of designs and interface robustness as part of transitioning board designs from initial prototype hardware to volume manufacturing. You'll have access to a well-equipped lab capable of measurements from DC to 100's Ghz.
You will oversee the detailed design and schematic capture of High-Speed Digital/Analog/Power Circuits as well as the CAD implementation of the PCB associated with the design.
You'll play a key role in the documentation of functional specifications, test plans and reports and participate in multidisciplinary meetings to coordinate the efforts of Signal Integrity, Mechanical, Thermal, Component, Optical, Test teams and other stakeholders.

The annual pay range for this position is $62,000 - $99,000 CAD.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
