Summary:
This internship is designed for enrolled PRCI Tribal Members interested in exploring opportunities at Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino, specifically in the Facilities Department.
The Intern will have the opportunity to gain over 2,000 hours, equivalent to 1 year of observation, education and relevant experience necessary to understand and support the needs of the Engineering Supervisor role. This full time position will allow the Intern the opportunity to learn the nuances of a supervisory role, which may include acquiring trade-specific certifications, or attending off-site trainings, in order to enhance their skills and broaden their knowledge during the internship. Interns growth will be tracked in the internship work plan and several check-in during the course of their internship.
Upon successful conclusion of the internship program, as determined by the TMCDP and the Mentor/Manager, the participant will receive a Certificate of Completion which may be used when applying to future positions.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following:
• Interacts effectively with the public and Team Members. Performs excellent customer service at all times.
• The Intern will work in partnership with assigned mentor to learn the types of work performed in this role while gaining skills and work experience.
• The Intern will be responsible supporting the supervisor to ensure all general maintenance and repair of minor problems throughout the Casino complex are promptly and correctly done and completed as directed.
• Responsible for supporting Mentor with training and supervising the Maintenance Engineers.
• Working with Mentor to ensure adherence to all OSHA regulations and internal safety policies and procedures.
• Be eligible at all times in this position to operate company vehicles as required.
• Works with Mentor to coordinate preventive maintenance on equipment as assigned.
• Responsible working with the Mentor to implement Engineering Safety programs and to ensure all team members and customers are provided a safe, hazard free environment.
• Conduct daily inspections of property and project areas with Mentor to ensure efficient and safe operations plus trouble shoot any problems or breakdowns.
• May be used as an usher as needed by management for events.
• Any reasonable request made by management.
• Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record and remain in good standing at all times during the internship.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Works with Mentor to directly Supervises all Maintenance Engineers and implements and enforces department procedures. Carrying out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities can include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Willingness to complete High School Diploma or GED during internship required. Additionally, Intern must be willing to enter any assigned classes or certification programs assigned by the TMCDP.
Special Qualifications:
Must be a currently enrolled PRCI Tribal Member. Must hold a valid Driver's License or be willing and able to get one within 60 days from first day in the internship. Must possess strong professionalism, good communication skills, and effective personnel management abilities.
Language Skills:
Must be able to read and interpret documents such as instructional materials, safety rules, and operational policies and procedures.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
