Chubb launched its third Engineering Center in Thessaloniki in 2022. Our rapidly expanding new Chubb Engineering Center in Greece (CECG) is integrated with the Engineering Centers in India and Mexico to support our global technology needs and digital business transformation, as well as the company's operations in the Europe - Middle East - Africa region operating in 27 countries.

Chubb is looking for a Software Engineer in Test to join our team. Responsibilities

  • Plan, conduct, and document accessibility audits for web applications against EN 301 549 and WCAG 2.1 AA (familiarity with WCAG 2.2 is a plus)
  • Perform manual and assistive technology testing (keyboard-only navigation; screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack; zoom and magnification; color contrast tools)
  • Use and interpret automated tooling to identify issues and prioritize remediation (e.g., axe DevTools, WAVE, Lighthouse, ARC Toolkit, Pa11y, Siteimprove)
  • Validate semantic HTML, ARIA usage, focus management, form labels and error messages, dynamic content updates, modal dialogs, component interactions, and responsiveness
  • Create clear defect reports with reproducible steps, expected vs. actual behavior, severity and impact, screenshots/video, and code pointers where possible
  • Partner with Product Owners, Designers, Engineers, and QA to set accessibility acceptance criteria, integrate checks into CI/CD, and verify fixes
  • Produce accessibility deliverables such as test plans, results summaries, risk assessments, and Accessibility Conformance Reports (VPAT/ACR referencing EN 301 549)
  • Advise teams on prioritization based on user impact, legal risk, and business context; track metrics and trends
  • Contribute to accessibility standards within design systems and component libraries
  • Monitor regulatory updates related to the EAA and recommend process improvements and training

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on accessibility testing for web applications
  • Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA, EN 301 549, and practical EAA implications for digital products
  • Proficiency with assistive technologies and real-world AT workflows (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
  • Solid understanding of semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WAI-ARIA, focus order, keyboard interaction models, and common UI patterns
  • Experience documenting accessibility defects and collaborating on remediation with cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with agile development, backlog management, and defect triage (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps)
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to advocate for inclusive design in a business context
