Job Title: Parenting Support Services Supervisor

Employment Type: Full-time, 40 hours/week

Scheduled Hours: 8:30AM-5:00PM (Flexible with some evenings required)

Program/Location: Parenting Support Services, Manchester, CT

About the Program: The Parenting Support Services program encompasses 3 separate programs: Triple P Standard, Triple P Teen, and Circle of Security. PSS is designed to help parents become resourceful problem solvers. As a result, parents will be able to create a positive and safe home learning environment for their children to develop emotional, behavioral, and cognitive strengths. PSS provides 8-10 sessions in-home, with an evidence-based curriculum. It involves a thorough assessment of parent-child interactions, the application of intervention skills to a broad range of child/teen target behaviors, and the use of relationship enhancement strategies, to promote parental autonomy. Most parents completing the program significantly reduce their use of corporal punishment and other coercive parenting strategies, while building a more positive relationship with their child.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Required to complete one Level 4 Standard, one Level 4 Standard Teen case, and one Circle of Security Parenting case after being trained in each intervention
  • Use and review all pre-post assessment instruments consistent with program models
  • Accept program referrals and insure initial in-home visit within at least 10 calendar days from the date of referral
  • Coordinate DCF referrals with designated DCF gatekeeper and collaborate with DCF caseworker and case supervisor and/or manager around specific case concerns
  • Ensure that Parent Educators complete the PSS initial Assessment within the first 2 visits and other model specific assessments per model requirements
  • Ensure that Parent Educators provide Level 4 Standard Triple P, Level 4 Teen Triple P curriculum interventions, and Circle of Security Parenting per model fidelity
  • Ensure that Parent Educators provide case management services consistent with the Wraparound philosophy
  • Directs crisis management planning for the team
  • Provides supervision weekly to Parent Educators and facilitates peer support meetings as required by the model
  • Provides on-call and on-site agency coverage
  • Evaluates staff, addresses issues, and initiates and follow through on progressive discipline, if needed.
  • Ensures timely completion of reports and data on performance indicators as required by model developer and funder.
  • Oversees completion of chart audits and ensures needed documentation.
  • Participates in hiring staff.
  • Reviews caseloads and assigns cases so that each Parent Educator carries a caseload of 10-12 families.
  • Ensures that service intensity of 1-2 hours weekly per family is met by Parent Educators
  • Provides marketing, training, and case consultation.
  • Participates in committees to improve service delivery and quality improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational and planning skills.
  • Demonstrates competency in age related or specialty issues and developmental needs for each population served.

Education: Master's in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, education, psychology or a related field.

Experience: A minimum of 2 years direct experience working with children and families and addressing parenting issues. Preference will be given to individuals with previous supervisory experience

Licensure/Certification/Registration: LCSW, LPC, LMFT preferred but not required

Training: Preference will be given to individuals who are already trained in Triple P and/or Circle of Security

Compensation: $56,797 minimum, and up commensurate upon experience
