Family Service Worker - Idabel Head Start

$17.98 Hourly | Full Time | 7:30am-3:30pm Monday-Friday

Weekly earned wage access is an option for this position.

Job Summary

Promote positive family and child outcomes that nurture school readiness by supporting families in creating a family partnership, setting goals, and identifying strengths and needs. You will report to the center supervisor.

Primary Tasks

1. Promote the importance of parent, family and community engagement in all areas of Head Start.

2. Offer Head Start families opportunities and support for growth, helping them identify their strengths, needs and interests, setting family goals empowering them to find their own solutions.

3. Locate resources/referrals for support or provide training indicated by family needs and interest.

4. Meet with families to follow-up on established plans and goals.

5. Work and collaborate with other community agencies to assist families to gain access to services and resources.

6. Maintain professional relationships with personnel, families and community members and show respect to family values.

7. Attend parent/teacher conferences and home visits as designated.

8. Monitor the safety and manage behavior of children in classroom, bus, and playground.

9. Facilitate activities with groups and individuals using developmentally appropriate practices.

10. Perform other tasks as may be assigned.

Requirements

Obtain foundations of case management certification within 18 months.

Perform multiple tasks at once and manage time.

Work independently with minimum follow-up.

Oral and written correspondence skills.

One year of office experience.
