Children's Ambassador – Be the First Smile Families See

At Children's, every visitor's journey begins with you. As a Children's Ambassador, you'll be the welcoming face that sets the tone for a safe, supportive, and uplifting experience. This is more than a role—it's an opportunity to make a lasting impact on children, families, and our community.

What You'll Do

  • Welcome with warmth and empathy: Actively greet visitors with kindness, compassion, and understanding—recognizing that families may be experiencing stress, worry, or joy. Your presence ensures a positive and comforting first impression.
  • Guide with care: Badge and screen guests according to visitation guidelines, then help them navigate the facility with confidence.
  • Support families: Determine destinations and transportation needs, offering assistance every step of the way.
  • Transport patients safely: Provide internal patient transport that is both secure and engaging.
  • Keep us moving: Stock and move wheelchairs, strollers, and carts to ensure accessibility across the facility.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least one year of customer service experience, including conflict management.
  • Understanding of developmental needs across all age groups—from neonatal to adult.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and prioritization skills.
  • Confidence and composure in stressful situations, with the ability to diffuse negativity.
  • Critical thinking skills to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Bilingual abilities preferred.
  • CPR certification (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers) required within 90 days of hire.

Scheduling Requirements

  • On-call shift: Required approximately once every two weeks. This is a paid "stand by" shift for illness replacement.
  • Coverage includes 1st and 2nd shift on Saturday and Sunday.
  • 3rd shift on-call coverage is required seven days a week.
  • Weekend availability: Every other weekend is required.
  • Holiday rotation: Participation in a holiday rotation is required.

Why You'll Love This Role

  • Be a source of comfort: You'll be the first point of connection for families, offering empathy and reassurance during moments that matter most.
  • Gain professional development and training opportunities.
  • Work in a supportive, mission-driven environment.
  • Enjoy competitive pay and benefits.
  • Make a real difference every day by creating safe, welcoming experiences for children and families.
