We're looking for a friendly and organized team member to join our Self Pay department! In this role, you'll be the go-to person for handling communications from families and internal teams—whether that's responding to emails, managing work queues in EPIC, or keeping spreadsheets up to date. You'll play a key part in ensuring our self pay process runs smoothly while providing thoughtful and attentive customer service. Tuesdays are your must-be-there day
Choose from several shift options (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, or 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Additional days may be scheduled during your training period to help you feel confident and supported

Communication & Correspondence:
Review and process communications from Guarantors, Patients, and Third Parties
Handle all mail and correspondence for the Business Office and Finance areas
Receive and work correspondence within department guidelines
Manage records release and processing
Self-Pay Account Management:
Conduct self-pay account review and servicing via phone, letter, and email
Revenue Cycle Knowledge & Compliance:
Maintain full comprehension of CHOP's revenue cycle work design including registration, billing, payment posting, accounts receivable follow-up, and compliance actions
Maintain all Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA, JACHO, third-party contractual agreements, and CHOP policies and procedures
Consistently support compliance by maintaining privacy and confidentiality, protecting organizational assets, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to federal, state, and local laws
Quality & Productivity:
Demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits in every interaction with colleagues and leadership
Meet established daily and weekly productivity and quality expectations
Training & Collaboration:
Provide training and cross-training as assigned to new employees
Interface effectively with all levels of staff and management
Communicate and collaborate with teams across Patient Financial Services and other departments to improve operational efficiencies
Provide recommendations for corrective actions to management to enhance revenue cycle efficiency
Safety & Organizational Values:
Report safety hazards, accidents, incidents, and unsafe working conditions promptly

High School Diploma / GED - Required
Associate's Degree - Preferred
At least one (1) year Operations, Customer Service or Support Services experience - Required
Experience in Healthcare Collections - Preferred
HIPAA compliance standards (Required proficiency)

Excellent oral and written communication skills (Required proficiency)
Microsoft Word / Excel (Required proficiency)

Experience in using commonly used electronic health records and healthcare revenue cycle financial management systems. (Preferred proficiency)
SALARY RANGE:
$20.55 - $25.69 Hourly
Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs. If you're working part-time, your pay will be adjusted accordingly.
