A Brief Overview

The Clinical Support Associate (CSA) performs delegated clinical and administrative duties in a medical support role within their scope of practice and consistent with their education, training, and experience. This position does not permit the administration of any medications.

About the Division

The Clinical Support Associate in the Division of Otolaryngology will be onsite 100% of the time with rotating shifts: 7:30AM-4PM, 10AM-6:30PM and 8:30AM-5PM.

What You Will Do

  • Cleans and sterilizes medical instruments according to department needs and according to CHOP's High-Level Disinfection (HLD) Policy and Procedures.
  • Ensures patient exam rooms are well stocked and organized.
  • Maintains patient areas while assuring compliance standards set forth by regulatory agencies.
  • Manages supplies and equipment in a fiscally responsible manner.
  • Recognizes and respects cultural diversity while being sensitive to the individual's ability to communicate;
  • Prioritizes and performs multiple tasks, is self-directed in the work area and seeks out and performs meaningful work during patient downtime.
  • Performs assigned clerical duties including but not limited to answering telephones, chart preparation, filing, confirming patient appointments.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED Required
  • Technical Diploma Medical Assistant Program Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • At least one (1) year related work experience. Required
  • At least one (1) year in medical office setting. Preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Computer skills that demonstrate health care informatics competency in order to manage patient care, data outcomes, and current and emerging health care technology. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to communicate clearly (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations (Required proficiency)
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - issued through on organization that requires a hands-on instructor lead psychomotor skills verification (ex. American Heart Association or Red Cross). - within 3 months - Required or
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - issued through on organization that requires a hands-on instructor lead psychomotor skills verification (ex. American Heart Association or Red Cross). - within 3 months - Required
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants - upon hire - Preferred
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Medical Technologist - upon hire - Preferred

SALARY RANGE:

$18.68 - $23.36 Hourly
