Pediatric Nursing Assistant

Children's Minnesota is one of the largest pediatric health systems in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. Our Minneapolis 7th floor is a 33-bed pediatric unit that provides care to infants, children and young adults in the areas of hematology, oncology, general medical/surgical care and patients needing behavioral crisis monitoring. Our team of dedicated professionals specializes in care of patients with hematology and oncology diseases, including new diagnosis, transfusions, chemotherapy administration, central line maintenance and end-of-life care. Our 7th floor staff also care for general medical/surgical patients, particularly those with non-infectious illnesses in order to maintain a clean environment for our patients with weakened immune systems. We utilize three inpatient rooms to support patients who need behavioral crisis monitoring.

Position Summary:

Provides safe patient care as delegated by licensed nursing staff and maintains equipment and supplies per unit standard.

Education:

*High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

*One year of previous Nursing Assistant experience or equivalent experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

*Proficient communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills required.

*Strong organizational skills.

*Excellent customer service skills.

*Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English to perform functions of the position.

*Skills in basic computer operation.

When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
