Regional HRSS (HR Shared Services) Director (APAC)

The Regional HRSS (HR Shared Services) Director (APAC) role at Cencora is a critical and strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of HR Shared services across APAC. Supporting a total population of 1500 people, the role has three main functions reporting to it: payroll, HR Solutions Centre, and HR Generalists. The role will lead the strategic and operational management of HR Shared Services team across the three functions. The Regional HRSS Director (APAC) will drive innovation, enhance service delivery, and foster a culture of continuous improvement to meet and exceed the expectations of our employees. Serving as a key member of the HRSS Europe and APAC leadership team, this leadership role is essential in shaping the future of our HR Shared Services at Cencora across APAC.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and support a high-performing HR team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Performance Development: Engage team members through coaching, training, and performance management to enhance skills and professional growth.
  • Service Delivery Oversight: Oversee all aspects of the Payroll function and HR Solutions Centre in APAC, ensuring outstanding performance across HR service areas.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and improve customer service using insights and best practices.
  • Metrics and Insights: Monitor team performance metrics (e.g., payroll accuracy, SLAs, resolution speed, and feedback) and use data trends to inform leadership decisions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the primary escalation point, ensuring effective communication across HR functions and stakeholders.
  • Program and Strategy Implementation: Lead the rollout and adoption of core Cencora people programs, payroll strategies, and new Time and Attendance solutions across the region.
  • Innovation and Technology: Drive initiatives to optimize service delivery and improve the employee experience through technology and process advancements.

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems, including payroll and escalated issues from multiple countries.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership skills to drive performance and manage geographically dispersed teams.
  • Confidentiality and Judgement: Exceptional confidentiality in handling sensitive employee information and sound judgment on when to escalate issues.
  • Process Improvement Focus: Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on enhancing services and processes.
  • Language: Excellent English level is essential. A working knowledge of any of the following languages would be useful: Chinese (Putonghua), Japanese, and Korean.

Education:

  • Degree in HR or related subject.

Experience:

  • Significant experience in managing HR teams in APAC, ideally in a multinational group.
  • Significant track record of success in a Shared Services team.
  • Demonstrated detailed knowledge of Workday, ServiceNow or other comparable integrated HR systems, ideally in a multinational group.
  • Significant professional experience in a multi-site operational environment.
  • Experience of managing managers would be an advantage.

  • Proven track record of HR Shared Services or similar operations management experience in an international environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and customer service skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of internal and external customers, including the ability to build and manage effective working relationships.

  • Ability to think strategically and be able to balance short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Ease in a multi-national and multi-site context.
  • Confidentiality in handling sensitive employee information.
  • Analytical mindset and ability to solve problems escalated to them from multiple countries.
  • Continuous service and process improvement mindset.
  • Excellent English level is essential. A working knowledge of any of the following languages would also be useful: French, Spanish, German, Romanian, or Turkish.

Additional Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements:

  • Functional knowledge of call center operation and related success metrics (HR service center preferred).
  • Ability to select, coach, and develop team members; strong process orientation and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of human resources, benefits, and payroll processes.
  • Excellent problem solving, strong interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize work, interpret data, initiate and implement change.
  • Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complex issues, and complaints, and interpreting policies and procedures.
  • Experience with HR systems and technology (e.g. Workday & Service Now, etc.).
  • Ability to manage many competing priorities in a fast-paced service environment.
