Software Engineer II (Payments Platform)

As a Software Engineer II on the Payments Platform team, you'll be a key contributor to the infrastructure that makes our mission possible. Our Payments Platform is the backbone of all Cedar applications, processing every transaction and ensuring a seamless, reliable experience for patients. You'll work on the core systems that handle money movement, from authorization to settlement, and directly impact how millions of people pay for their care.
The Kinds of Problems You'll Solve
This isn't just about writing code; it's about solving real-world challenges that have a direct impact on our users. You'll:
- Build and enhance core payment features: You'll work on new features and improvements to our payment processing system, ensuring it's robust, secure, and scalable.
- Troubleshoot and optimize: Dive into the system to diagnose and resolve issues, ensuring our platform maintains high availability and performance. You'll learn to identify and address bottlenecks to keep transactions running smoothly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with product, client success, and other engineering teams to understand patient and client needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Deepen your expertise: Develop a strong understanding of the entire payment processing lifecycle, from card and bank integrations to security protocols and compliance.
What We Look For in a Candidate
- Experience: You have 2-3 years of professional experience building and deploying production-level backend services.
- Technical Skills: You're proficient in at least one major programming language and have a solid foundation in computer science fundamentals. (Python, Django, Airflow - highly preferred)
- Problem-Solving: You're a creative problem-solver who can tackle complex challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaboration: You're a team player who can communicate effectively and contribute to a positive and productive team dynamic.

Compensation Range and Benefits
- Salary/Hourly Rate Range*: $145,000 - $161,625
- This role is equity eligible
- This role offers a competitive benefits and wellness package
