Union Utility Engineer

As a CBRE Union Utility Engineer, you will assist and support stationary engineers during service, preventative maintenance, installations, modifications/repairs, inspection of all building and HVAC equipment. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function and is responsible for providing support, preventative maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You'll Do

  • Perform work and tasks assigned in a timely manner while using the CMMS work order system.
  • Maintaining and servicing restroom equipment (toilets, sinks, soap dispensers)
  • Pond maintenance (adding chemicals, cleaning pump baskets, netting leaves)
  • Hanging of framed objects (pictures, whiteboards)
  • Building rounds (inspections and cleaning of storm drains, lighting, operation of entry doors, elevators, etc.)
  • Maintain records and evaluations of maintenance programs through the use of (logs, word, excel, M.S. Office)
  • Initiate the purchase of parts, materials, equipment, supplies etc., in accordance with company procedures and provide technical assistance when required to facilitate such purchases
  • Good interpersonal skills (radios, cell phone, email)
  • Ability to work with a team.

What You'll Need

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma
  • Minimum of 1 year experience and/or job-related experience.
  • Maintenance experience is a plus

Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems. Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents. Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset. Advanced math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages discounts and commissions.
