HVAC Building Engineer
As a CBRE HVAC Engineer, you will be a critical part of our integrated facilities management team, entrusted with the essential task of maintaining the mechanical and electrical integrity of complex commercial HVAC systems within a large, active healthcare campus in Temple, TX.
You will be responsible for conducting rigorous performance testing and executing scheduled preventative maintenance, ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems that are crucial for patient care, comfort, and sensitive medical equipment operation. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining sterile environments, comfortable patient recovery areas, and operational continuity across the campus.
This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong diagnostic skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance in a dynamic healthcare setting.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee comprehensive maintenance for a large healthcare campus in Temple, TX, encompassing a main hospital and additional smaller healthcare buildings.
- Execute assigned work orders and promptly respond to emergency service tickets.
- Conduct routine preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of HVAC equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot commercial rooftop units and air handling systems.
- Manage and service chillers and other diverse HVAC systems throughout the facility.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment issues across the entire campus.
- Collaborate effectively with other HVAC engineers and maintenance technicians.
- Maintain refrigerant systems in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Install, repair, adjust, service, and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration, including calibration of instruments, gauges, and control components.
- Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance of HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine optimal solutions for modifications or repairs.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
- Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
- Work within broad guidelines and policies.
- Explain difficult or sensitive information.
What You'll Need:
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and the ability to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Possession of an EPA Universal Certification, or the ability to obtain it within a specified timeframe.
- Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
- Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
