Data Engineer (Snowflake)

Our Enterprise Data Platform brings Master Data Management and Data Governance concepts, built on a modern tech platform, to transform CBRE into a fully data-enabled organization. Along the way, we are liberating data from silos across the region and building core platform functionality to provide disruptive innovation.

What You'll Do:

  • Interpret and analyse data from various source systems to support data integration and data reporting needs within CBRE.
  • Work with team leads to prioritize business and information needs
  • Prepare detailed ETL/ELT mapping specifications
  • Develop ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Develop complex code data scripts (SQL and Python) for ETL
  • Troubleshoot & determine best resolution for data issues and anomalies
  • Assist in development of software technical documentation
  • Design, specify, implement, and maintain systems using Kanban/Scrum methodologies.

What You'll Need:

  • 3+ years experience in Data Platform / Warehouse / Lake engineering: source integration, pipeline development and analytics professional work experience in analytical/data roles
  • Significant recent experience with Python especially in scripting and data processing using packages such as pandas
  • Excellent SQL skills, ideally Postgres and SQL Server (T-SQL)
  • Familiarity with common AWS services (S3, EC2, Glue)
  • Experience with iPaaS applications such as SnapLogic (ideal), Jitterbit, Mulesoft, Informatica etc
  • Basic knowledge of BASH scripting and Azure DevOps platform (Boards, Pipelines, Repos)
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, especially stages, integrations, formats, procedures, role-based management
  • Good Understanding of Concepts like Scaling, Cloning, Search Optimization, Clustering
  • Knowledge of Indexing strategies and query tuning for performance (e.g. Explain Plans).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to clearly communicate capabilities, opportunities, and recommendations to both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Deep understanding of data architecture & data modelling best practices and guidelines for different data and analytic platforms
