About The Role

As a CBRE Building Automation System Engineer, you will provide program oversight in the operation and maintenance of all building automation systems to maximize efficiency and minimize costs. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function and is responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain a total facilities systems management program which includes all the various connected and separate electrical, mechanical, life, and safety systems that are operational in a facility.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to system operations and work safety.
  • Inspect systems to ensure the operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves operational conditions prescribed by the client.
  • Oversee scope development, work request initiation, scheduling, and inspection of work performed by outside contractors, which includes proprietary work, licensed installations, upgrades, and maintenance and inspection of specialized systems.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning assistance as needed.
  • Review assigned work orders.
  • Estimate time, and resources, and order necessary materials to complete all repairs.
  • Perform assigned repairs and emergency and preventive maintenance.
  • Complete maintenance and repair records as required.
  • Complete all required and assigned training at a satisfactory level.
  • Participate in all related programs & activities as required. This includes incident investigations, interviews, auditing, and assessment.
  • Report any conditions which you feel could result in an accident or injury and stop work if required.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information.

What You'll Need

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future. High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. HVAC system experience is required. Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS), Lighting Control systems (LMS), and Energy Control Systems (EMS). Experience with solar power management, shades automation systems, and cloud data connectivity. Excels at fostering a culture of continuous improvement by working closely with colleagues to explore, adopt, and master new techniques and technologies.

Certificates And/Or Licenses

Additional certifications in two or more of the following: Webctrl, Niagara N4, PV systems, Lighting systems, Shades system, and/or HVAC systems.

Other Skills and/or Abilities

Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more. Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Knowledge of triaging tickets and finding the best resolution. Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
