Cboe interns work with a variety of staff across multiple departments and have the opportunity to put their skills to work in their field of interest, while learning about Exchange technology and operations through our robust Options Institute courses.
The three main foundational pillars of our internship program are: develop, educate and network. We want to ensure each of our interns receive a real-world working experience that encourages academic, professional and personal growth.
Candidates should be versatile, eager and able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive financial and technical environment. Our interns will have the flexibility of working 2 days remotely, and 3 days in office per week at one of our state-of-the-art offices in Chicago, Kansas City, and New York City. To be eligible for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in a university or college program and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the internship year. Our internship program runs from June to August, and you will wrap up your internship with a final presentation and retreat.
The Operations Support Center (OSC) Options Product team is hiring for Operations Support Center (OSC) Intern. Looking for an internship where every day brings something new and exciting? As an Operations Support Center (OSC) Intern at Cboe, you'll dive into the dynamic world of financial markets, you'll leverage cutting edge financial tools like Cboe LiveVol Pro and similar analytical tools. You'll utilize SQL and other technologies to analyze trading trends, support new options listings, and process IPOs. These resources help you manage data efficiently, ensure accurate listings, and contribute to strategic decisions in a dynamic financial environment.
You'll get hands-on exposure to options listings from origination to settlement. You'll gain an insider's view into how new options products - including options listings on IPOs—are launched on the exchange—from idea to implementation.
As part of the OSC Options Product Team, you'll also have the unique opportunity to collaborate with the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) and Cboe customers which include market liquidity providers, and major financial and brokerage firms. This partnership experience will deepen your understanding of how market infrastructure functions behind the scenes—from trade execution to clearing and settlement. You'll support seamless communication and coordination between Cboe and OCC, contribute to process enhancements, and ensure the efficient rollout of new products and IPOs.
In addition, you'll have opportunities to service the Cboe customers, commonly known as Trading Permit Holders (TPHs), which include interaction with professional traders. By engaging directly with TPHs, you will help address their needs, gather valuable feedback on product and IPO performance, and facilitate smooth communication between market participants and internal teams. Your experience interacting the Cboe's trading community will offer practical insights into the fast-paced environment of live markets and further develop your operational knowledge.
Picture yourself collaborating on important Cboe initiatives using sophisticated project tooling such as Jira, documenting critical processes in Confluence, or helping streamline operational processes while learning directly from industry experts. You'll assist the team with market research, contribute to product and IPO launch initiatives, and understand the mechanics behind adjusting strikes and updating listings in response to market events.
No two days are the same: one day you might be analyzing market data, the next you're brainstorming with colleagues about a product or IPO rollout or monitoring live trading systems. You'll strengthen your analytical, technical, and communication skills while making new friends and seeing your ideas in action in a fast-paced, engaging environment.
