 
                                                
                                            CBC Saskatchewan is looking for an enterprising multiplatform reporter to join our newsroom as the inaugural reporter in our North Battleford bureau. You will ensure that stories and voices from The Battlefords and area are reflected in our journalism across digital, radio, social, streaming and TV.
In this role, you will operate independently under the direction of the CBC Saskatchewan assignment desk. As such, you'll need to be someone with a lot of initiative, who is comfortable working solo to get things done, and is able to build collaborative relationships with your producers and teammates in the regional station.
As an resourceful journalist and a self-starter, you must be able to analyze a broad range of issues and thrive in the fast-paced, high-pressure world of storytelling, within a multi-platform newsroom. You will have endless ideas, a fresh approach to telling stories and a keen desire to ensure our programming is timely, relevant and reflects the news our audiences need to know right now.
You know how to gather, write, edit, and package content for video, digital and audio platforms. And you thrive on the pressure of reporting on breaking news from the field. You are passionate about championing stories and sources from Saskatchewan's under-represented communities, and you know that every story needs to include a range of perspectives. You will report on public policy, culture, and the lives of people in and around The Battlefords.
As someone with a deep working knowledge of Saskatchewan and North Battleford (or the ability to develop one quickly), you understand its political landscape and its resource and ag-driven economy. You note the changing culture of the province. Your work highlights how these issues affect the day-to-day lives of the people who live here.
In this role, you will ensure that your work meets all CBC journalistic standards and that our stories are fair, balanced, accurate, thoughtful, immediate and resonate with the communities we serve.
