National Line-Up Editor, Radio (French Services)

As a Line-Up Editor, you will be in charge of preparing the lineup of international, national and regional news for newscasts. You will supervise the on-air presentation or online publication in keeping with corporate standards and policies. This is a permanent, full-time position. For information, the successful candidate will initially work from Friday to Sunday morning. The schedule may be subject to change depending on operational requirements.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Seven (7) years relevant journalism experience or equivalent

Skills:

  • Extensive general knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of national/international news and current affairs
  • Demonstrate strong leadership
  • Solid command of writing techniques specific to the radio medium
  • Thorough knowledge of newsroom logistics
  • Knowledge of production techniques
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to go on air to read news bulletins, an asset
  • Fluent in the working language: French
  • Intermediate oral, writing and reading proficiency in English
  • Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada's Journalistic Standards and Practices

Shortlisted candidates will be tested as follows:

  • Practical test
  • Interview
