CBC Digital Products is looking for a bilingual (French/English) Junior Agile Team Lead to join our growing team on an 18-month contract.

In this role, you will:

  • Coach, mentor, and support team members in agile practices.
  • Facilitate collaboration and continuous improvement to enhance team productivity, efficiency, and delivery.
  • Serve as a key contributor and informal leader within a cross-functional Product team.
  • Champion a culture of open communication, feedback, and accountability.

Though the title is Junior Agile Team Lead, you see yourself first and foremost as a servant leader and coach, not a commander.

Your responsibilities as a Junior Agile Team Lead may include:

Coaching and Mentoring:

  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to individuals, teams, and leaders on agile principles, values, and practices while displaying flexibility and openness to navigate real-world challenges.
  • How to develop into empowered teams by building an understanding and embracing of the agile mindset and methodologies while establishing solid principles.

Facilitation and Communication Skills:

  • Lead agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews.
  • Ensure effective and empathetic communication, collaboration, and decision-making within the team.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for team process improvement
  • Collaborate closely with teams to implement agile frameworks and methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Encourage experimentation and adaptation to optimize team performance.

Team Empowerment:

  • Cultivating a self-organizing and high-performing team culture by promoting autonomy, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Assist teams in identifying and overcoming obstacles to ensure smooth progress and delivery of value.

Agile Metrics and Reporting:

  • Identify, define, track, and analyze key agile metrics to measure team delivery and performance.

Change Management:

  • Act as a change agent to promote the agile mindset and health culture within a team or across departments.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align their expectations and ensure commitment to the agile journey.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Continuously assess and refine agile coaching approaches and strategies to enhance team effectiveness.

Confidence, Humility, and Innovation:

  • Utilize powers of observation to understand and inspire individuals and teams to change and improve.
  • Showcase creativity in problem-solving and the ability to remove obstacles innovatively.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • 3+ years of experience in agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, or similar).
  • Certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or other pertinent Agile certifications are desirable.
  • Knowledge with Atlassian JIRA/Confluence is essential.
  • Knowledge of Agile principles and values, and continuous learning.
