Culture Reporter (French Services)

As a culture reporter for Radio-Canada, you will cover daily events and issues related to cultural and artistic life in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean. You will work across all digital platforms, as well as radio and television. You will be expected to demonstrate clarity, depth, and rigor in accordance with CBC/Radio-Canada's Journalistic Standards and Practices. You must also show creativity and originality in generating ideas and approaches for covering content. In this role, you will report to the Editor-in-Chief of the Saguenay station. We are looking for someone curious, dynamic, comfortable presenting journalistic content live, and committed to teamwork and maintaining a positive work environment. The standard schedule is Monday to Friday and may be adjusted according to production needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of experience in journalism or equivalent

Skills:

  • Strong general knowledge
  • In-depth understanding of cultural news in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean
  • Excellent command of the French language
  • Knowledge of English is an asset
  • Familiarity with media-specific communication techniques (web, radio, TV) and interview methods
  • Ability to work as part of a team while demonstrating autonomy, resourcefulness, and initiative
  • Boldness, creativity, and curiosity in fact-finding
  • Strong knowledge of digital storytelling and social media management
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of the Corporation's Journalistic Standards and Practices
  • Valid driver's license

Selected candidates will be tested as follows:

  • Written test related to the position
  • French-language test
  • Interview
