Work at CBC/Radio-Canada

At CBC/Radio-Canada, we create content that informs, entertains and connects Canadians on multiple platforms. Our successes and accomplishments are driven by embodying and upholding values, which include creativity, integrity, inclusiveness and relevance. Do you think you have the ability and drive to keep up with this exciting, ever-changing industry? Whether it be in front of the camera, on air, online or behind the scenes, you would be joining a team that thrives on making connections and telling stories that are important to Canadians.

The program will run from Monday, January 12 to Friday, June 26, 2026.

What do you need to be eligible?

  • You must self-identify as a person with a disability.
  • You must have no prior long-term work experience with the CBC.
  • You must be able to work legally in Canada.
  • You must be available for the assigned workweek during the program, to be discussed during the interview process.

The Accessible Canada Act definition of disability: "means any impairment, including a physical, mental, intellectual, cognitive, learning, communication or sensory impairment—or a functional limitation—whether permanent, temporary or episodic in nature, or evident or not, that, in interaction with a barrier, hinders a person's full and equal participation in society."

The successful candidate will be on-site 5 days/week and based in Toronto. Some flexibility with work schedule hours may be possible. Part of the CAPE program includes attending weekly online group meetings with other CAPE participants. These meetings will be scheduled with your manager's approval.

  • Organizing and sorting of collections within storage rooms and vaults. May require frequent standing, the ability to reach items on high and low shelving and some physical exertion.
  • Creation and updating of physical holdings inventories using Google Suite and other Library-specific software.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • University or College degree or diploma in Library and Information Science, Library Studies, Library Technician, records management or the equivalent.
