CBC Manitoba is looking for an experienced journalist to fill the key role of Assignment Producer for bureaus in our newsroom. This is a full time, permanent position.
The ideal candidate will be a positive and influential leader who inspires the news team to think creatively and deliver multi-platform stories that are relevant and impactful for our audience.
As Assignment Producer for Bureaus, you coordinate the production of stories and segments for all platforms. There may be wide latitude for initiative, independent judgement and creativity. There is a regular and ongoing requirement to supervise the work of others.
You will regularly connect with people in the communities we serve. The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding and awareness of issues and events particular to our bureaus in Steinbach, Brandon and Northern Manitoba and will have strong ties to, and a deep understanding of, underrepresented communities and equity-deserving groups.
You will ensure that all CBC journalistic standards are met and that our stories are fair, balanced, accurate, thoughtful, immediate and resonate with the communities we serve. You care about the people you work with and have a deep appreciation for different perspectives, opinions and experiences.
