The Senior Sales Support Consultant is a key contributor to the Resource Industries Sales, Services and Technology Team. As senior sales support consultant, you will work closely with the various America's sales execution teams to support in key deliverables by providing strategic guidance, commercial insights, and customer focused solutions that drive profitable growth. You will build and maintain strong relationships with various business decision makers, helping craft critical messaging and spark creativity in various communications.

Key responsibilities will include:

Regional Engagement & Enablement

  • Support regional sales managers and GTM teams in key deliverables for customer facing interactions
  • Prepare, deliver, and follow up on materials that empower dealers and customers.
  • Develop key communications regarding opportunities for profitable growth

Strategy Development

  • Collaborate with various subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop effective communications strategies
  • Support market analysis to identify key trends that drive profitable growth

Organizational Excellence

  • Lead and participate in regular meetings with core teams and leadership
  • Maintain strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple priorities across global regions

What skills you will have:

Value Selling: Understanding of sales processes, opportunity management, and pipeline tracking; experience using CRM tools to manage data accuracy, forecasting, and reporting; ability to analyze opportunity timing, quantities, and probabilities to support informed business decisions.

Customer Focus: Customer‑focused mindset with the ability to support both dealers and internal stakeholders; experience preparing and delivering training materials, presentations, and sales enablement tools.

Effective Communications: Ability to clearly transmit, receive, and interpret information; adapts communication style to audience; demonstrates empathy and assertiveness when needed.

Creativity: Utilizing approaches, tools, and techniques to promote creative, original thinking, and apply to a variety of business situations.

Relationship Management: Strong relationship‑building skills to serve as a trusted connector between sales teams, leadership, and internal functions.

Business Development: Proven ability to identify new prospects, expand customer relationships, and uncover incremental sales opportunities that drive growth and strengthen market presence.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Ability to accurately analyze situations, evaluate alternatives, and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment, while applying a creative mindset to uncover new approaches and solutions.

Top candidates will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communication, or Marketing
  • Seven or more years of progressive sales or marketing experience
  • Experience in the mining industry
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Experience partnering with product groups, districts, and dealers
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

The primary work location for this role is Tucson, AZ or Peoria, IL, with a requirement to work on-site full-time at a Caterpillar facility.

This position may require 15 % travel.

Domestic relocation assistance is available.

Summary Pay Range: $128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
