Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer Technician II position located in the Booneville, MS facility. This position will ensure production Value Stream goals are met in PQVC by providing support for the Value Stream Manufacturing Engineers in the execution of project implementation and daily support of the operations team as warranted. The candidate will assist the Engineers in developing print packages for RFQ's, tooling and fixtures, CI card completion, Standard Work and other QSI / ETQ documentation creation and maintenance, and related tasks as needed.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Operator should have attention to detail and be self-motivated.
  • Operator will work in a team environment.
  • Operator is expected to cross train in other areas of operations to provide flexibility within the job classification scope.
  • Support NPI and implementation of updated processes by building and testing PPAP samples
  • Support installation and run off of new equipment
  • Trial and runoff of new tools and associated training of group leaders and operators
  • Provide input for BOMs on fallout percentages and yield of component parts (e.g., determination of salvage rates)
  • Investigation and implementation of VS CI cards
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment problems
  • Evaluating and updating standard work, process flow, control plan, FMEA documents
  • Interfacing with operations and other cross functional groups in addition to engineering team members
  • Expected to determine and perform root cause corrective analyses and actions.
  • Attend and actively participate in safety and team meetings
  • RIW participation alongside VS engineer

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years in a Cat Remanufacturing facility Or Equivalent Previous Manufacturing Experience
  • High proficiency of PC skills including e-mail, Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience reading and understanding blueprints
  • Experience reading and understanding precision gauges/torque and torque devices
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving problems, recognizing the need for support and creating teams to accomplish tasks if necessary
  • Experience with process flow diagrams, control plans, and PFMEA.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • 2+ years of machining experience
  • Associates degree in a manufacturing related field
  • Currently enrolled in or desire to pursue additional education in a manufacturing related field.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
  • High degree of accountability for product and processes
  • Ability to learn new products and processes and to evaluate and recommend improvements to Standard Work

Physical Requirements:

  • Job may be physically demanding at times and must be able to handle high volume fast pace operation.
  • May walk, squat and bend for intervals of 15-30 minutes
  • Must be able to wear proper PPE.

Job Bid Eligibility Requirements:

Summary Pay Range: $25.75 - $33.46 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
