Role Definition:

Provides technical expertise necessary to design all aspects of production, costs, quality, compliance to safety guidelines, and environmental requirements for manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and implementing enhancements and modifications to complex manufacturing operations equipment and especially assembly lines.
  • Ensure safety in all manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Monitoring sophisticated equipment and process reliability; identifying and addressing problem areas.
  • Providing direct supervision, coaching and development for operations technical staff and support areas.
  • Leading engineering support on planning, development, operation, and maintenance of equipment, processes, or facilities.
  • Develop, manage and collaborate with equipment and tooling vendors.

Desired Qualifications:

  • University or technical school degree in a Manufacturing Engineering-related degree;
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing and industrial engineering concepts; and
  • Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Good knowledge of Transmission / Gearbox Assembly, Testing and its operation.
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of employees, department, vendors and customers.

Skill Descriptors:

Decision Making and Critical Thinking:

Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Manufacturing Engineering & Processes :

Knowledge of assembly processes, techniques and methods of engineering in a manufacturing environment; ability to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention. Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.

Lean Manufacturing:

Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.

Project Management:

Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Collaborative Automation:

Knowledge of techniques and processes of collaborative automation; ability to develop and deploy cobots / Robots to automate manufacturing processes.

Problem Solving:

Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
