The Building Construction Products (BCP) Division is responsible for the design, operations, procurement, sales, marketing, and product support of Caterpillar's compact, versatile construction machines and attachments business.
The Engineering Director plans, directs, and leads engineering staff and activities to ensure projects, initiatives, and processes comply with established policies/objectives. This includes responsibility for:
- Global Facility Oversight: Lead the management of Building Construction Products worldwide machine testing and endurance facilities, ensuring operational excellence, safety, and alignment with strategic product validation goals.
- Engineering Services & Cost Analysis Leadership: Direct the Engineering Services, Virtual Product Development (VPD), and Cost Analysis teams to drive innovation, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across product development cycles.
- Product Compliance Management: Lead the Product Compliance Team to ensure all products meet regulatory standards, supporting global market readiness and risk mitigation.
What You Will Be Responsible For:
- Managing the engineering staff and activities with an emphasis on organizational goals achievement, professional development, and continuous improvement.
- Monitoring and continuously improving product and process performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness for all engineering activities and deliverables.
- Providing leadership to create and maintain processes used to design, develop, and manufacture components, systems, products, services, and technologies.
- Managing engineering product and manufacturing process or quality issues, from concept through end of life-cycle.

Top Candidates for this position may also have:
- Prior experience leading large teams
- Experience with test and endurance/operations management
- Experience with Product Development and VPD
Degree Requirement:
- Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
Additional Information:
- This role will be based onsite, 5-days per week, in Clayton, NC with 15% travel.
- Domestic relocation is available

Summary Pay Range: $185,400.00 - $278,160.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
