Role Definition

Caterpillar is seeking a talented and experienced Full Stack Developer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in building scalable desktop/web applications using Vue.js for the front end and Node.js for the back end. This person will work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions. This person is responsible for designing and developing intuitive, responsive, and high-performance UI applications for Remote Control Operator station.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain front-end components using Vue.js tailored for automotive displays and touch interfaces.
  • Build scalable and efficient back-end services using Node.js, RxJS to support real-time data exchange and vehicle connectivity.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Integrate with vehicle systems via APIs, Ethernet, or other automotive protocols.
  • Optimize applications for performance, memory usage, and responsiveness on embedded platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive standards for safety, reliability, and performance.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging across the stack.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including embedded engineers, QA, and product managers.

Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.
