As an Electrical Designer in this role, you will work closely with a product group and engineering project lead to assist in the design and development of various electrical components such as harnesses, cables, sensor groups, schematics and associated mounting components for various Caterpillar machines. This position performs various design activities that include: Model and detail sensor groups, create harness or cable routings using modeling software, create and/or modify schematics, design/model associated mounting components such as brackets, identify and assist in resolution of design problems, work closely with other Caterpillar teams and suppliers.
Create models and drawings for various electrical components or assemblies (i.e. sensor groups, wiring harnesses, cables, and mounting brackets)
Create and/or modify wiring schematics
Interpret prints and engineering standards
Design, detail/model supporting mechanical components such as brackets or mounting plates.
Communicate technical information to team members, other Caterpillar engineering teams and suppliers

Product Design - MFG: Knowledge of processes, approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.
Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
Bachelors' degree within a technical field - Engineering, Computer Science, etc.
Experience working with Electrical Systems within Engines
Demonstrates proficiency in the use of 3D Parametric modeling tools (PTC Creo/Solidworks/Inventor)
Demonstrates expertise in electrical design practices related to automotive or heavy equipment
Proficiency in application of PTC Creo or other parametric 3D modeling tools
Experience with electrical design pertaining to automotive or heavy equipment systems
Experience maintaining or operating heavy equipment
Ability to approach tasks in an organized fashion to ensure all requirements of task are met
Leverages tools and established processes to ensure swift and accurate completion of tasks
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a team dynamic
Ability to communicate complex concepts or ideas within a team
Ability to identify critical tasks and prioritize their completion

Summary Pay Range: $71,040.00 - $106,440.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
