A Day in the Life of a Specimen Processor:
This role is responsible for clinical specimen accessioning, sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced environment. It involves triaging and prioritizing samples, entering data with minimal errors, scanning requisitions, labeling specimens, and distributing them appropriately. The position ensures accurate documentation of incomplete orders, communicates with clients as needed, and escalates issues to supervisors. Additional duties include managing specimen returns, supporting tissue acquisition, maintaining supply chain integrity, and ensuring accuracy in the lab information system. The role supports departmental changes, contributes to a positive team environment, and performs other tasks as assigned.
