We're now growing our Private Buying Team, focused exclusively on purchasing cars directly from customers. Based at our dynamic Laverton North facility, this role is ideal for someone with a strong background in used car acquisition and customer negotiations who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage directly with private sellers to evaluate and purchase their vehicles.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and valuations to ensure fair and accurate offers.
• Negotiate purchase prices and terms to optimise value while maintaining excellent customer experience.
• Collaborate with the wider sourcing and operations teams to ensure smooth logistics and timely handovers.
• Analyse market trends and pricing to identify profitable opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all purchases, seller details, and transaction history.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proven experience in vehicle purchasing, used car buying, or retail automotive sales, preferably with a focus on private acquisitions.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle makes, models, market values, and condition assessment.
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills — able to build trust with customers quickly.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in vehicle evaluation and documentation.
• Current, valid driver's license.
