Controls Programmer
Carrier Commercial Service has an opening for an experienced Controls Programmer for our Seattle, WA location. Established Project Management professional. Manages the daily coordination of projects including preparing and maintaining budgets and staffing requirements, and is responsible for estimating project costs, gathering and analyzing data, preparing progress reports, coordinating project tasks with various functional organizations, and identifying project problems.
Key Responsibilities
- The Project Engineer is responsible for managing and assisting the Project Manager with the installation of commercial HVAC equipment within various vertical markets, positively representing the company in all client and architect/engineer interactions
- Work with end-users, sales staff, and prime contractors to ensure a clear understanding of project scope and deliverables
- The Project Engineer helps oversee and communicate project progression from inception to completion, including design, permits, material delivery, labor schedules, and field installation
- Develops a comprehensive project plan to meet schedules and budgets. Conducts Work in Progress meetings
- Expected to develop working knowledge with Building Automation Systems (BAS) systems; Carrier i-Vu knowledge is a plus
- Understands and follows all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications
- Conveys a sense of professionalism, fairness, and concern for customers, labor, and management
- Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Accurately forecast revenue each month by reviewing each project to estimate the value of work completed each month correctly
- Execute all major functions required for project management, including project initiation, project planning, project execution, project monitoring, and project close-out
- Manage the Change Order process, assuring that scope creep does not occur
- Assure that all projects will be managed to or exceed the percentage of booked project margin
- Assure that job safety is priority on every project.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in project management or 2+ years project management in mechanical installation or building automation or electrical installation or construction field.
- 2+ years of experience reading blueprints, structural drawings and understand complex building architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and/or certification in BACnet; or LEED certification
- PMP certification or working towards PMP Certification.
- Associates Degree in engineering or project management
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize among assignments with a strong adherence to deadlines.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, both with internal and external customers.
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $64,500.00 - $129,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other Compensation
This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
