Assistant Vice President of Client Services
Reporting to the Deputy CIO and leading teams of skilled professionals, this position will foster collaboration to provide best in class services supporting teaching & learning as well as general productivity activities, collaborate with peers at Carnegie Mellon and other universities to provide oversight and guidance on projects critical to the University's initiatives.
The Assistant Vice President of Client Services will partner with stakeholders across Carnegie Mellon University, shaping and prioritizing the technology services provided to enable and support university wide research, teaching and business.
This position will lead the Client Services organization composed of: Productivity Services, AI Service Development, IT Support Services and Learning Technologies & Media Services.
The Assistant Vice President of Client Services oversees the global/enterprise-wide IT services in one or more of the following areas: Administrative Computing, IT Infrastructure, Network, Business Innovation, Academic Computing or Information Security; or if within a large college responsible for strategic IT support, planning, and direction. These are colleges that require significant IT resources to support administration and research needs.
College SR. IT Directors generally have collective responsibility for systems and applications programming, systems engineering, desktop and helpdesk support, network resources, and related contracted or shared computing support.
Job Responsibilities:
- Accountable for staff and technical resources supporting enterprise-wide or large colleges. Leads and assumes responsibility for major financial and resource decisions for directorate or college. Collaborates with divisional leaders and other external parties to exchange information that supports Carnegie Mellon's continued leadership role in higher education IT.
- Serves as a senior member of the leadership team and collaborates with Computing Services and other campus leaders to design new services/systems.
- Serves as a senior member of the management team within division or college determining IT strategy and delivery. Leads in establishing central IT or school information technology strategies, policies, and procedures. Works with external organizations or projects that enhance the reputation of the university or support individual professional development.
Required Responsibilities:

- Serves as a senior member of the management team and collaborates with Computing Services and other campus leaders to design new services/systems, create opportunities for collaboration and innovation with business partners.
- Collaborates with divisional leaders and other external parties to exchange information that supports Carnegie Mellon's continued leadership role in higher education IT.
- Works with external organizations or projects that enhance the reputation of the university or support individual professional development.
Education:
Master's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience (preferred)
Work Experience:
- 10-15 Years of Information Technology Project Management Experience
- 10-15 Years of Management Experience

- A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
