Controls Engineer

We’re hiring a Controls Engineer for a global automotive manufacturer in Toledo, OH. This role focuses on improving and supporting manufacturing processes — especially those involving automation, robotics, and PLC-controlled equipment.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and loves making systems run smarter and more efficiently.

You’ll be doing things like:

• Developing and improving automated manufacturing processes
• Creating work instructions, setup procedures, and control documentation
• Supporting new product launches (APQP/PPAP)
• Applying lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
• Working with robotics, PLCs, and automated systems
• Reducing scrap, improving uptime, and troubleshooting production issues
• Communicating with machine builders, customers, and suppliers to optimize performance

What they’re looking for:

• BS in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
• 4–6 years of experience in manufacturing or automation engineering
• Knowledge of robotics, PLCs, and control systems
• Familiarity with PFMEA, DOE, APQP, PPAP, and IATF 16949
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Organized, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
