The Appraisal Department Support Specialist will effectively provide administrative support to the Asset and Appraisal Department Manager. This position functions as a point of contact and communication for the Appraisal Department including the Relationship Managers, Relationship Liaisons, and the Bank's panel of real estate appraisers. Processes and tracks all real estate appraisal orders and appraisal reviews, obtains bids and engages appraisers and well as provides assistance to the Asset and Appraisal Department Manager where needed.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage the email inbox for commercial appraisal & environmental department requests
- Review and distribute commercial appraisals and evaluations in accordance with credit policy.
- Initiate and prepare appraisal and or environmental orders and bid requests based on scope and content of work order utilizing the Bank's collateral management system.
- Monitor all appraisal orders by performing confirmation activities including daily updates to the status queue, confirmation of scheduled property inspections, forwarding of relevant information to the appraiser, monitoring appraisal completion dates (to maintain SLA's).
- Responsible for managing the appraisal report upload to the Bank's review system.
- Responsible for compliance with mandatory delivery of appraisal reports to customers when applicable.
- Provide administrative support to the Asset and Appraisal Review Manager
- Assist in the monitoring of license and insurance requirements of approved appraisal panel per Bank Policy.
- Assist in providing information to the Bank to help in the preparation of property evaluations when policy allows an evaluation instead of an appraisal.
- Interact with inter-departmental and external contacts.
- Perform review of residential (1-4 units) and non-complex commercial appraisal reports and complete evaluations of the same.
- Prepare forms, reports, correspondence, memoranda, etc.; answer calls and provide assistance to customers. Perform project work, as assigned.
- Comply with all banking regulations, policies and procedures.
Minimum Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of experience in a commercial lending environment with appraisal review experience of residential and/or commercial reports.
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
- Must be able to prioritize, handle multiple tasks and be a team player who can also work independently.
- Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, and commitment to meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Ability to proofread for clarity and grammatical errors.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
- Team oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others.
- Knowledge of Abrigo/Sageworks is a plus
Working Arrangements:
- Ability to travel within a defined market area.
- This is a hybrid role based in our Rockville, MD office.
Compensation:
- Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $110,000 annually. Final determination of where you are at in the salary range is based on numerous factors such as relevant experience, skill set, education, geographic location, and ability to meet qualifications within the job description.
- Additional Compensation: This role will participate in a lucrative incentive plan with payout based on your ability to meet assigned goals.
