Summary of Responsibilities
The General Manager, Life Cycle Management and Maintenance Services is responsible for overseeing the management and coordination of Life Cycle Management and Maintenance Services functions to ensure optimum operation and availability of screening equipment deployed at airports across Canada. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring that sound management practices are in place for day-to-day activities of the Life Cycle Management and Maintenance activities for CATSA’s equipment and systems, including preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance parts replenishment and contract management. The General Manager, Life Cycle Management and Maintenance Services performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.
What You Need to Succeed
To qualify for the position, you must have:
- Graduation from a recognized college or university in engineering, project management, public administration, or another specialization relevant to the duties of the position.
- A minimum of ten (10) years progressive experience in a technology-based role.
- A minimum of five (5) years of management experience, including managing a team and providing leadership.
- Experience in a technical support role and/or technology lifecycle management role.
- Experience providing strategic direction recommendations to senior management.
- Experience in resource management (human, physical and financial).
- Experience liaising with various stakeholders.
- Experience in managing contract performance.
- Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.

- Strong relationship building skills, with experience liaising, establishing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Valuable skills include:
- Knowledge of CATSA’s mandate and priorities, as well as an awareness of relevant legislations affecting CATSA.
- Experience maintaining a large fleet of equipment in an operational environment.
- Knowledge of screening technologies or other similar technologies.
- Experience with lifecycle management of a large fleet of equipment.
- Experience developing long-term lifecycle management plans.
- Program management experience across different geographical locations.
Specific work requirements:
- Ability to work overtime as required;
- Ability to travel as required
- Language Profile: CBCC;
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; and
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
