The Software QA Engineer will play an important role within the Mechatronics embedded team, ensuring quality and continuous improvement is of paramount importance within the team. Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough testing of web interfaces and remote embedded hardware devices using both scripted and exploratory testing techniques, to identify defects, usability issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for both new and existing applications.
• Execute test cases and document test results, tracking and prioritizing defects to resolution.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and ensure test coverage has been met.
• Identify, isolate, and report defects, effectively communicating issues to the development team.
• Perform exploratory testing to discover defects, gain insights into software and hardware behaviour, and assess the user experience.
• Perform pragmatic regression testing to ensure existing functionality is not affected by new changes or updates in both software and hardware devices.
• Continuously improve the testing process by adopting best practices, exploring new testing tools and methodologies, and sharing knowledge within the team.
• Constantly refine and stay current with emerging technologies.
• Foster and promote a culture of Testing Excellence across the business through a "Lead-by-Example" mindset.

Essential Criteria:

• A minimum of 3+ years proven engineering experience testing remote embedded hardware devices at mid-senior level.
• A third level qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. (BTEC HND, BSc, BEng)
• Experience in creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Hardware devices, web and mobile applications.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills to identify, isolate and replicate defects.
• Proficiency in bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr).
• Knowledge of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
