We are looking for a motivated and analytical Business Analyst to join our Data Engineering & Analytics team. This role will work closely with engineering teams and product stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and data insights that support large-scale, data-driven platforms.

The Business Analyst will collaborate extensively with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) and cross-functional stakeholders, and will serve as a key partner to development teams by providing clarity on business context, data expectations, and analytical requirements.

While experience in broadband or managed service provider environments is a plus, this role is well suited for candidates who can quickly ramp up on new domains and accurately reflect business requirements through data and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with product, engineering, and PLL teams to understand business objectives and translate them into well-defined functional and data requirements.
• Act as a primary business liaison for development teams, ensuring requirements are clearly articulated, documented, and understood.
• Analyse complex business workflows and customer-facing scenarios and map them to system behaviour, data models, and reporting needs.
• Use SQL as a core skill to analyse, validate, and explain data across multiple operational and analytical data stores.
• Support engineering teams by validating business logic, metrics, and outputs using real data.
• Perform ad-hoc and exploratory analysis to answer business questions and support decision-making.
• Work closely with data engineers and developers to:
  • Clarify requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Validate data models and reporting outputs
  • Support impact analysis for new features and enhancements
• Collaborate across teams to ensure consistency between business requirements, data definitions, and system behavior.
• Develop a working understanding of platforms supporting broadband and managed service providers, such as subscriber lifecycle, service management, operational visibility, and platform health.
• Ensure requirements and analysis consider relevant compliance, security, and audit expectations (e.g. PCI and related frameworks).
• Support traceability of requirements and data for audit and governance needs.
• Create and maintain clear documentation including:
  • Business and functional requirements
  • Data definitions and business rules
  • Analytical assumptions and validations
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring shared understanding and alignment.

Required Qualifications:

• 3–8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role in data-driven or platform-based environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL for querying and analysing data.
• Proven ability to work closely with engineering and data teams.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate business needs into data and system requirements.
• Ability to learn new domains quickly and apply business context to data and technical discussions.
• Comfortable working in environments with ambiguity and evolving requirements.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Collaborative mindset with a focus on enabling engineering teams to succeed.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in broadband, telecom, or managed service provider domains.
• Exposure to cloud-based data platforms or large-scale data systems.
• Experience supporting compliance-driven or regulated environments.
