Technical Project Manager

We are an innovative startup in the pet insurance sector based in Switzerland. Our technology stack is based on Angular, Go, and AWS, and we develop both our own software solutions and integrations with external partners or providers. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a technically skilled person who can both lead projects and program independently.

Tasks

You will work closely with the CTO and can always reach out to him with questions. At the same time, you will take responsibility and work independently with the rest of the team and business stakeholders to understand our processes and business model. Your goal is to design technical solutions that are sustainable from both a business and technical perspective in the long term.

• Technical project management and coordination
• Communication with internal and external stakeholders to capture and prioritize requirements
• Weighing alternative solutions and developing decision bases
• Supporting and managing offshore developers
• Ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices
• Technical implementation and architecture
• Independent development and code review
• Supporting the development of our systems
• Identifying and implementing improvements for scalability and maintainability
• Cooperation with external partners
• Technical and organizational coordination with external software and service providers
• Monitoring compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards
• Quality assurance and process improvement
• Continuous improvement of development and operations processes

Qualification

You are curious and eager to learn – you are not afraid to work on new topics and develop innovative solutions. You think along and question existing processes to improve them. You also have an interest in business and understand that technology is not just an end in itself, but should create real added value for customers and the company. You work independently and can drive tasks structured and autonomously. Experience is a plus, but what is more important to us is your mindset and your willingness to grow together with us.

Ideally, you have already gained experience in the insurance industry, either through a previous project or professional positions. If not, that is no problem – what is more important is your motivation to work on new domains and develop a deep understanding of our processes and products.

What you bring with you:

• Experience in software development and technical project management (e.g., lead engineer, scrum master, etc.)
• A university degree in computer science, business informatics, or similar
• Ideally experience with modern web technologies, e.g., Angular or comparable frameworks
• Knowledge in backend development, ideally with Go or a comparable language
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
• Ideally knowledge of databases (SQL or NoSQL)
• Experience working with offshore teams
• Experience in managing external service providers and software vendors
• Very good communication skills in German and English
